These two survived a trip to the American Southwest. If these two figurines were proportionally accurate, that would be one hell of a zebra.
I write articles and essays about design and culture. Sometimes my writing is humorous, though that isn't always intentional. I studied design criticism at the School of Visual Arts, where, amongst other thing, I wrote about the carpet patterns of movie theaters. I currently reside in Brooklyn, New York, next to an above-ground subway track that is always under construction.
Happily committed to my desk-free, freelance practice, I also write and edit publications for individuals and companies who seek to communicate their research and methodologies to a broader audience.

I’ll take them, if just to shake your hand. I love your idea. I love the idea behind your article in Good, even more so. My question to you is, in giving all of these things away, where are they eventually going? Consider the design of your own effort, here… what do you do by giving something to the next person, that something being perhaps insignificant? (Obviously we place meaning behind different things, but action figures versus a skillet, or a chair.) Most of the objects posted so far are trinkets… fuel for landfills. And they may still become that, even once they’re no longer in your possession. And what are you taking in return, whether metaphysical, physical, or in the future? (In other words, what are you spending your money on now?
Would love to shake hands and perhaps discuss further. I have a warm place in my heart for the D-Crit program.
